Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Marking Juvenile Takifugu obscurus Otoliths with Strontium

چکیده
Strontium marking technology is commonly used for extensive in stock enhancement and releasing activities. In order to explore the feasibility of this juvenile Takifugu obscurus, five different concentrations strontium (0, 12, 18, 36, 72 mg/L) were set up by chloride hexahydrate (SrCl2·6H2O) T. obscurus immersed 7 days. Then, reared non-additive water 25 The results showed that survival rate all groups was 100%, except mg/L group, after days immersion. Moreover, growths marked better than control group. There no significant difference between groups, 18 indicating appropriate concentration might have positive effect obscurus. calcium (Sr/Ca) ratios otoliths increased with increasing time, which higher baseline, respectively. Sr/Ca returned original level, but peak value still retained, suggesting success reached 100%. Notably, residual content group insufficient causing negative effects Therefore, consideration growth, survival, on otolith, an This study confirmed provided a new approach rationally scientifically evaluate efficiency

Obscure puffer Takifugu obscurus, a species of anadromous fish, experiences several salinity changes in its lifetime. Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic heavy metal that can potentially induce oxidative stress in fish. The present study aimed to detect the combined effects of Cd (0, 5, 10, 20 and 50 mg L(-1)) and salinity (0, 15 and 30 ppt) on juvenile T. obscurus. Results showed the juveniles could survi...
